On Motherhood

Karina Enever shares her reflections on pregnancy, entering motherhood and the journey that lies ahead. Pictured wearing our new Mum Chain Bracelet and Necklace, the perfect gift for every mum and mum-to-be, and addition to your own wishlist this Mother's Day.

How has your pregnancy journey been so far?

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster in the best and hardest ways. Moments of surprise, bliss, excitement and real happiness, mixed with exhaustion, confusion, hormones, vulnerability, and a lot of surrender. It’s stretched me more than I expected, physically and emotionally, but also softened me in ways I didn’t see coming.

How are you feeling connected to motherhood already?

If I’m honest, I didn’t feel a connection straight away, which I found really confronting and at times upsetting. I thought it would just click, and it would be this magical experience I’ve seen people describe. But it’s been building slowly, in quieter moments. It’s taught me a lot about being present, letting go of expectations, and trusting that connection doesn’t always look how you think it will.

What are you most looking forward to doing with your baby?

The simple things. Long mornings at home, beach walks, introducing them to the ocean, our routines, our world. Just being together and figuring it out as we go.

Do you have any advice for other soon-to-be mothers navigating this stage?

Try not to put pressure on how you think you should feel. Everyone talks about this instant connection or glow, but it’s not always like that and that’s ok. Give yourself space, be gentle with yourself, and trust your own pace.

What does the Mum Collection mean to you during this season of your life?

It’s a beautiful little reminder when I lose myself. It brings me back to what really matters for me, especially in moments where everything feels a bit overwhelming or uncertain.
